All New DANCING ROBOT - CREATION OF JAPANESE

Japanese researchers made a humaniod robot that can reproduce dance steps easily with the practiced grace of an electronic geisha. The robot is about 5-foot-tall (1.5-meter-tall) and and showing a demo at the University of Tokyo's Institute of Industrial Science on January 12, 2005.

The researchers had converted the human dancer's movent into a data which made the sequence of the motion of the robot's limbs. Moer report on this fact published on last of that week.

According to a author this report especially lighted on motionsof limbs to get a novel attempt in which a biped-type robot imitates not only upper body motions but also leg motions including steps.

So far the 128-pound (58-kilogram) dancebot has been taught the fluid motions of the Aizu-Bandaisan—a traditional Japanese folk dance—as well as more mundane tasks such as serving tea, carrying a table, and standing up from a prone position.
