1. Widgets

Widgets are not just cool-looking, but useful as well. You do not need to click on the calendar/feed reader to check your appointments/news feed.  It just sits there on the home screen waiting for you.

For example, audio manager lets you monitor and control all your device volumes from just one place.

The calendar widget lets you glance through all your tasks/appointments at once.

2. Swype

The iPhone auto-correct is the butt of many jokes. Heck, there are even websites dedicated to the same.

Damn you auto correct! 

On the other hand, we have Swype for Android: the best touch keyboard ever. With Swype, and a little bit of practice, you can type on your phone almost as fast as on your laptop/computer.

3. Google Maps

Is there even a competition between Google maps and Apple maps?
Yes, Google maps has been around for more than 7 years now (since 2005) and Apple has a lot to learn, but at this nick of time, there is no debate as to which is far superior.

Apple's Maps don't include walking directions or transit directions and that's a big let down for a lot of users.
Google just recently revamped their Maps to include 3D mapping and offline maps. The offline maps are a killer feature, they are useful when you have no service.

4. Browser (Safari vs Chrome)

I just cannot tell you how much I love Chrome- it is fast, more secure and simply looks better with the minimalistic interface design. And the best part is, you can sync the Chrome on your Android device with the one on your desktop. The bookmarks and the open tabs on your desktop can be accessed directly from your phone.

 

5. Voice Assistant (Siri vs Google Now)

Yes, we have all hear about how great Siri is.

Siri can narrate sports scores and standings, can make a reservation for you at your favorite restaurant via OpenTable and also let you know what movies are playing at your local theater.
Despite Siri's new additions, though, she is no match for Google Now.
Google Now gets to know you personally. It is designed to be truly helpful. In addition to providing you with sports scores Google Now scans your calendar and lets you know when to leave so you'll make your next appointment on time.

 

6. Google Suite

Let's face it: every app developer dreads the day when Google comes up with a competitor to his/her app. Although the said app might be slightly better than the Google version, people are still going to go with the Google one just because it can be integrated with a whole host of products we use on a daily basis (Gmail, Google+, Picasa, Blogger, Chrome, Drive etc)
